Regional Manager Home/Field Based (with travel across the North of England and occasional travel to London) About Us The Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) is a not-for-profit organisation that fights the causes and impact of poverty across the UK. We have built a network of over 400 small grassroots charitable organisations which enable us to learn from those who understand the true nature of poverty and work to make life better. Following a highly successful trial programme in the Midlands which resulted in nearly £400,000 in philanthropic donations and three significant policy projects, we have now received multimillion-pound government funding to roll our programme out in locations across Britain. We’re an award-winning organisation and studies have shown we are considered one of the most influential think tanks in the UK by two of the largest political parties. We’re now looking for a Regional Manager to oversee our activities in the North of England and help us to influence policy at the highest levels of government. Not only will you support and influence changes to public policy and the government agenda, but you will also be able to experience first-hand the changes that are made and how they impact lives. The Role As a Regional Manager, you will be tasked with leading our local hub in the North of England to grow our charitable alliance and network. You will play a key role in painting a regional picture of poverty throughout the North whilst also helping to provide the solutions that will enable communities to realise their potential. Specifically, you will build and maintain relationships right across the North, engaging with local organisations and communities and acting as the key point of contact for the North for the CSJ. Bringing together Senior Philanthropists, business leaders and grant-givers, you will help co-ordinate investments for game-changing work. You will also have the chance to work alongside other Regional Managers to direct the activity of the Westminster policy office. About You To be considered as a Regional Manager, you will need: - Experience in a senior role and knowledge of how to lead - Experience of working in, or closely with, small and/or medium sized charities - An understanding of the pressures involved in this work and the ability to help others accordingly - Proven influencing skills - The ability to manage relationships across the spectrum of society and win people over to the mission of the CSJ - Excellent skills in working collaboratively, in partnership with local and national influencers, to bring clarity to difficult questions and offer solutions to real problems - The willingness to link in closely with other regional offices and the CSJ team in Westminster, travelling to meetings when required - A full, valid driving licence and access to your own transport A portfolio of connections in charities, foundations and trusts across the North of England would be beneficial to your application.
