Overview

My Real Estate Client is looking for a Group Accountant for a 12 month period. Support the EMEA Reporting Manager to deliver to deadline accurate EMEA reporting for both internal and external use within a SOX compliant internal control environment. Continuously look for ways to improve the timeliness and accuracy of reporting, disclosure, reporting governance, Hyperion Close and recommend changes to polices, processes and controls owned by others. Support EMEA retained and outsourced finance staff to achieve reporting deliverables through developing smarter solutions, training, presentations, process documentation, DTPs & coaching Deputise for the EMEA line Manager when absent Hyperion data completeness, integrity and administration Responsible for the successful loading of non-interfaced data into Hyperion including HFM flat files and manual normalisation entries where the results are not on the Workday ERP Support the Reporting Manager's review and approval of late Workday journals (WD 5) in conjunction with the EMEA Operations Controller Prepare a reconciliation of normalised costs and ensure supporting documentation is available and reviewed Ensure adequate management review governance is in place over the following key areas of the P&L & Balance sheet: Perform all necessary reconciliations to ensure the integrity and completeness of loaded data including normalisation reconciliations and systems misalignment reconciliations Support all required reporting issue remediation actions (Essbase is used by FP&A for management and skill line reporting) Adequately monitor and take action to continuously improve reporting performance and communicate this to senior management including the EMEA Regional Finance Controller QUARTERLY - in addition to the monthly deliverables the following is required Prepare EMEA US GAAP analytics on the income statement and balance sheet as required and develop a deep understanding of financial performance in order to be able to provide insightful commentary & analysis Effectively plan and execute with Global Controllership & EMEA retained teams the reporting and understanding of Country / Cluster US GAAP analytics Review Corporate reporting supplementals prepared by the BPO & others (lease commitments, PPE / software movements, related party transactions, provisions movements, bank guarantees…). Ensure all supplementals are reviewed and signed off by all relevant Controllers. This is HFM data driven Prepare EMEA level supplementals - currently excel (Restructuring reconciliation, restricted cash, allowance of doubtful debts analysis) for Global Reporting by preparing for and collating input from others. Preparation requires the issue of HFM data. Prepare the Legal provision reconciliation for review by the EMEA reporting manager Be an EMEA HFM subject matter expert responsible for EMEA HFM / Smartview training Support the Reporting manager's regular systems access review to Hyperion and Co-Star Ensure the unadjusted items tracker submitted to Corporate contains the most up-to-date unadjusted items that are reviewed and signed off by Controllers and the EMEA Reporting Manager. Proactively follow through and have an in depth understanding of unadjusted items and actions to resolve. review topside and flat file load including balance sheet open item progress, bank, balance sheet risk & opportunities, balance sheet reconciliation progress and open items monitoring) Essential: >3y Post qualification accounting and international group reporting experience including group consolidations and variance analysis. US Gaap reporting experience strongly preferred, IFRS Gaap experience preferred Essential behaviours: Effective critical thinking and analytical skills, proven ability to simplify complicated matters, resilient, flexible and able to work to deadlines under pressure. A proactive, collaborative problem solver. Able to demonstrate attention to detail. Essential: Knowledge of Hyperion and ideally also Workday. Essbase also useful Essential: Evidence of strong communication skills across international finance staff both qualified and unqualified in spoken and written English.
