Domestic violence, IDVA, Safer Lives Your new company Hays are recruiting for a leading charity who specialise in the support of survivors of domestic violence. Your new role Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic & sexual abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist . Focus on and prioritise high risk cases and provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support Work with high risk victims of domestic & sexual abuse to help them access services to keep them and their children safe Advocate for high risk victims with agencies who can help to address the domestic & sexual abuse by: Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic & sexual abuse victims and how your role fits into these services Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance Referring High Risk clients to MARACs Working directly with all key partner agencies to address the safety of high risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated particularly through the MARAC Referring and signpost clients to relevant agencies for longer term or additional needs for further support Supporting clients through the Criminal Justice Systems Participating in relevant statutory meetings in order to safeguard clients and children keeping client's safety at the forefront of proceedings To participate in Local One Stop Shop for victims of domestic violence providing direct support, advice, information and advocacy Manage a caseload ensuring each client receives the appropriate service individual to their needs Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation Devise and deliver adequate training, workshops and presentations to partner agencies and client groups as appropriate To participate in regular supervisions, reviews and appraisals. Be proactive with your line manager in carrying out periodic case reviews based on a review of risk and abuse which: Feeds back into action planning to further progress, signpost or close cases and; What you'll need to succeed Must have Safer Lives qualification or equivalent Hays DBS or be on the DBS update service Available immediately or within weeks notice.
