Overview

REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing Company with a global client base. Production Controller - 6 month fixed term contract Job Summary The position will be based in the Conditioning area of the Company, where processes include bar peeling, cylindrical grinding, straightening, sawing, heat treatment and NDE activities, the successful candidate will work as part of a multi-functional team to ensure production schedule adherence, identifying bottle necks in advance and providing plans to mitigate any delays, a key part of this role will be to liaise with the master production scheduler and production controllers in other areas of the business to ensure a seamless flow of product through the operations. Collating of information relating to current processing times to ensure the times are reflective of those used for planning. Main Duties and Responsibilities  Manage all aspects of production control for the associated internal and external operations.  Ensure that all the information required to support a 24/7 operation is obtained in good time to prevent any delay.  Identify key milestones in operations both upstream and downstream and ensure adherence is monitored.  Produce and issue saw cutting instructions based on information from the technical team.  Audit the production monitoring system to ensure accurate bookings are maintained by shop floor personnel.  Interaction with the master scheduler and commercial to provide information relating to new enquiries and associated lead times.  Arranging transport requirements for both UK and Export.  Arranging 3rd part witness at various stages of manufacture, ensuring schedule adherence. Skills, Experience & Qualification Requirements:  Operational understanding of machining facilities.  Proficient use of all Microsoft packages  Experienced planner within a manufacturing environment Desirable Requirements:  Demonstrate experience of Multi-tasking.  Previous experience of managing subcontractors and maintaining schedule adherence  Previous experience of arranging transport for UK and Export requirements  Involvement with arranging 3rd part inspections at various stages of manufacture
