Overview
Magpie People have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production / Manufacturing Engineer to join a market leading engineering company based in Sheffield. The position has been created through growth into new and existing markets The main duties of the role: Responsible for the procurement of technical components and materials ensuring that they are sourced effectively to agreed level of quality. Review drawings with an emphasis on manufacturing resource Liaise with Project Management and Engineering teams regarding technical details to resolve any issues that may arise Create bid comparisons, procurement plans and cost estimates Be the main interface for suppliers, purchasing and other internal departments Build and maintain positive relationships with the supply chain Negotiate with suppliers including consideration of technical, commercial and qualitative requirements Evaluation of suppliers, including delivery time, price development, quality and develop a process to assist in improving our procurement chain Coordinate supplier visits and lead supplier meetings You should have: Experience of working within a manufacturing environment, particularly fabrication and machining Experience of working on bespoke Engineering projects in complying with budgetary, compliance, regulation and Health and Safety requirement Proven record of working with interpreting technical drawings Able to effectively communicate, influence and negotiate with external clients/suppliers H NC/HND/Degree in an engineering discipline Familiar with CAD/SolidWorks Magpie People is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
