Overview

I am working with a manufacturing company in the Warrington area who are looking to recruit an Indirect Buyer. This person will look after the indirect spend covering categories such as Industrial cleaning, site services, catering, security waste management and manage a total spend circa £10M spend. The purpose of this role is to support all purchasing/procurement activities to ensure that purchasing services to the site are cost effective and at the required level to satisfy the needs of the plant. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Ensure EHS and quality compliance from all vendors/suppliers. Research and identification of potential new suppliers. Work with QA, EHS & Other Dept. Heads as necessary to determine and set the specification for goods and services before entering supplier discussions and negotiation. Management of the Supplier Approval process. Ensure all suppliers meet our internal criteria in order to be approved. Set up and maintenance of Approved Supplier Lists - work with "users" of the goods and services to agree a list of suppliers we will use regularly Obtaining competitive quotations and selection of appropriate supplier. Issuing blanket purchase orders and approving purchase requisitions and orders (in line with Purchasing Authority Matrix). Handling of purchasing requisitions requiring 3 quotations. Supplier Performance Review and annual supplier status check Supplier audits - work with QA and EHA as required to fulfil compliance and QMS obligations. Ongoing supplier relationship management. Maintain accurate and up to date records of transactions for accounting, audit and inventory control purposes Foster a positive working environment that instils motivation and high standards of work, provides development opportunities, and supports the industrial relations. REQUIRES: CIPS qualification A minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing and supply chain Experience in a manufacturing environment General purchasing experience of tender process and bid management Negotiations Data analysis / good level with IT and e-tools Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time Highly motivated, organized individual who is able to work effectively with minimal supervision Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft Excel and has the ability to maintain and manager supplier records and data They are offering a salary of £35,000-£40,000 and further package details will be discussed on application.
