Lead DevOps Engineer Birmingham - Up to £65,000 bonus A reputable financial organisation based in Birmingham are seeking a talented and passionate Lead DevOps Engineer with strong .Net Core and cloud knowledge to join their organisation and play a pivotal role in delivering multiple transformation projects. Technical lead on .Net framework and associated skills Hands-on contribution to the technical code and design documentation Provide Technical support including Technical Enablement on Application, Solution Development and Implementation of Roadmap & effort estimates Support & undertake evaluations and technical proof-of-concepts Identify and address design challenges and work closely with architecture community Ensure that the application design & implementation is adequately documented and approved Understand / apply reusable code design, leverage application architecture / framework capabilities and functionality, and design / develop solutions that are highly reliable, scalable, and perform to meet business-defined service levels Conduct code reviews and ensuring quality solutions are built and tested Take full ownership of code quality and implementation of UI designs into production & manage the DevOps team from both Development & operations perspective Evaluate and recommend the development methodologies, frameworks and modelling techniques Assist developers during the development process to address any technical and design challenges Create new and unique applications, with focus on .Net / C# based architecture. Lead fast paced proof of concepts and demo projects including mock screen designs Mentor other engineers/developers to create innovative solutions, balancing user needs against business goals and technology capabilities Your extensive experience will provide knowledge to the development team across the range of tools and platforms that the team works with and you will be expected to lead in the development of the front end applications and web sites developing great user experiences across different browsers and devices Providing technical leadership across aspects of the technology stack and demonstrate strong problem solving skills Utilising and championing agile technical practices; Continuous Integration/Delivery, pair programming, refactoring Design & implement solutions that are mobile friendly & responsive designs Introducing Open Source products and tools as appropriate to optimise the delivery timescale and quality of the software product Applying expert knowledge in design workshops utilising emergent design and architectural principles and patterns to produce well-engineered solutions Participate and contribute to all agile ceremonies; planning, estimation, show & tells and retrospectives Work with analysts to interpret high level requirements for complex, large scale initiatives and decomposing them into independent stories for consumption by team member Work in a collaborative, sharing, open, transparent way Escalating complex challenges, issues and risks as well as proposed mitigating actions Driving continuous improvement efforts by identifying and championing practical means of reducing time to market while maintaining high quality products Govern & design CI/CD pipelines from Development through to Production implementation Skills Required Solid working experience of .Net / C# & associated skills Experience using Build & Deploy tools - Such as Jenkins, Maven, OctopusDeploy Hands-on experience of application development & deployment in Cloud (AWS and / or Azure) & related technologies such as Serverless Solid understanding of DevOps, Continuous Integration, deployment & operations concepts & demonstrable working experience in these areas.
