Overview

Knauf UK GmbH are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to our business, based in our UK HQ based in Sittingbourne, Kent. The role will see you: Assist the Lead Financial Accountant in providing comprehensive financial support services to the company Recording and retrieving financial details of the company, including maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, maintain accounting policies, process improvements and other financial functions. Provide administrative support to the Finance and IT team. Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Your key responsibilities are: You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register, accounting for depreciation, ensuring group policies and accounting standards are adhered to. Monitoring currency gain/loss each month including revaluation of the ledgers. Support the preparation of business and legal forms including company secretariat, lease and office for national statistics forms. Create purchase orders for the department, building relationships with key suppliers Assisting the Lead Financial Accountant in preparing monthly management accounts and annual financial reports. Assist the Lead Financial Accountant to ensure company processes and policies are adhered to Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts as required by the Lead Financial Accountant. Assist the Financial Controller with the insurance renewal and maintenance of the insurance cover Support the Compliance department with recording and allocating claims Assist in managing the teams H&S data, drive actions, get actions followed up / completed and compete relevant forms. Support the finance team by maintaining key department records and master data Support in the preparation of monthly intrastat declarations and EC sales reports each month for both UK and Irish branch Assist in preparing the analysis for corporation tax, PSA and other taxation calculations Assist with general office and administrative duties to maintain a highly efficient department Organise the department travel arrangements and diaries Anything commensurate to complete your rol Requirements: Qualifications, skills, ability and/or experience: Part qualified AAT preferable but not essential Experience of working in a finance department Knowledge of financial controls and basic accounting processes Confident, effective communicator Ability to work to tight deadlines Good / intermediate excel skills Good attention to detail and highly numerate Good organisational skills, ability to plan own workload Self-motivated and enthusiastic, willing to learn SAP experience desirable Speculative CVs sent in by recruitment agencies will be deleted without being reviewed - any approach of this nature will result in the agency not being considered for future support.
