Overview
Procurement Specialist required for Newport based manufacturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement department with all aspects of the purchase to pay process. You will: Follow established Procurement procedures and processes Ensure purchase orders are placed in line with existing contracts and demand schedules Provide support where necessary to indirect Identify and implement cost saving opportunities Provide support to global purchasing initiatives where required Resolve queries efficiently and quickly Support Engineering Capital Projects and Site Facilities ensuring materials and services are sourced at the best possible price & quality and ensuring goods are delivered on time Ability to manage and negotiate commercial contracts If required, assist with long lead equipment analysis - conducted for all equipment that is thought to be near critical path or obviously puts the construction window in jeopardy. You will have/be: Knowledge of MRP systems, SAP and Microsoft Office IT packages. Ideally have experience of Ariba sourcing tool Negotiation experience for materials and services Observe and encourage safe working practices. Ideally have experience working on end to end procurement, with knowledge of Sourcing and Contract Management Demonstrate positive, professional behaviour to both internal customers and external contacts/suppliers. Efficient problem solver and independent thinking. Ability to provide innovative, quality solutions with a desire to find win-win solutions. Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
