Overview
Offshore Environmental Oils Limited, a manufacturer of environmentally acceptable offshore hydraulic fluids, is looking to expand the team at its main facility in Leigh, Lancashire. The position available focuses on research and development within a busy and friendly laboratory team. A senior research and development chemist is required to report directly to the Research & Development manager. Previous experience in formulation, research and development work within the lubricants industry is essential. Responsibilities:- Design and evaluation of products for hydraulic fluid applications according to project plans and objectives. Continuously research, review and identify new materials and technologies that may form the foundation of future product developments. Assist in the preparation of product manuals and safety data sheets for new products developed, together with any additional documentation required by customers. Participate in any technical service requirements as the position requires. Reporting of experimental results and findings which may include oral and/or written presentations. You will be detail oriented, hard working and able to work well on your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will have excellent communication, IT and management skills. Previous experience of working to ISO and/or other relevant standards is essential. Applicants should hold a science degree and/or other qualifications relevant to the role and must have previous experience in formulation, research and development.
