We are currently looking to expand our team of dedicated Female Support workers who work in our Eastleigh service where we support people with a learning disability. You will provide support with medication, finances, daily living tasks and you will be involved in supporting people to develop friendships and be part of their local community. The people we support like to be fully involved in everything that is happening with their lives and need you to ensure this happens for them. Another big part of being a Support Worker is being a big part of the fun The people we support all have hobbies and interests which are detailed a little more on the additional information tab. You should be the type of person happy to try new things as you will be involved in these hobbies Support workers must be flexible in the hours they can work, as support can be required 24 hours a day. You will work on a rota basis throughout the week, weekends and bank holidays with sleep-ins (Sleep ins are compliant and in line with national living wage) as well. We have roles for full time, part time and relief work available. You do not need to have experience but it is essential that you share our values. As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us. An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply) Due to the people we support this role is for female support workers only therefore this post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1 Job reference 16014.
