Overview of role You will support with a range of activities from the everyday living needs and ‘must dos’ (such as assisting with medications, supporting with attending health and medical appointments, moving and handling), through to the lighter side of life doing things like becoming involved with the local community, shopping, baking, gardening and socialising with family and friends and much much more (activities vary from home to home). We're always open to hearing if you may have a hobby or new idea to bring too This relief role will suit someone who has a flexible approach and is able to cover sleep-ins and weekends. How Relief works The Relief (Bank) post will support the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave/sickness/training/unforeseen vacancies. As such, hours are non specific but the service will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible. Rotas will be available 6 weeks in advance. Who are we? Using a Positive Behavior Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability. What we need from you Firstly, experience is not a must to become a Support Worker but it’s not easy. It will be a bonus if you've had exposure to challenging behaviour however, we will give you full training and 1-1 support. We will also provide PBS training (positive behaviour support). The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no two days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it’s something you’ll never forget. As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we’ll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support. It will be an advantage if you drive and have your own transport but it is not essential for Relief posts.
