Overview

A Richmond Based award-winning start up specialising in Bespoke state of the art AI Robotics and UAV Systems are looking to expand their team with a Propulsion Engineer with a background to work with them on expanding the database on propulsion solutions and creating systems for our future drones. The Role The client are looking for an Engineer who has a background exposure in electrical/electronic engineering concepts/ knowledge of power and engineering concepts and signal processing/control engineering. You will be involved in expanding the database on propulsion solutions and creating systems for future drones. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where quick prototyping and experimenting is highly encouraged. Initially, you will aspire to find and test commercially available components (propellers, ESCs, motors, batteries,…) to find efficient and performant systems. One of your major goals will be to further develop the modelling tool which will enable you to quickly generate propulsion systems for the future drones. In the longer term, the Propulsion team will be tasked with creating bespoke components for improving performances of existing drones. Propulsion Engineer You will be building a database of commercially available propulsion components, testing propulsion configurations and designing the propulsion systems for the state of the art drones as part of the Advanced Systems/Propulsion Team. MATLAB and Python/C++ are useful skills and ideally a familiarity with drones/their basic components is useful (ie ESCs, Motors, Batteries, Flight Controllers, propulsion systems (ideally electrically based) Circuit knowledge workshop skills are therefore beneficial.
