Biomedical Scientist - Move into Applications Engineer Location: Hertfordshire Salary: Excellent This is an entry level role, and the ideal candidate would be someone already working in a clinical environment such as biomedical scientist wanting to move into industry. Required Qualifications / skills : Min. HND Electrical & Electronic Engineering or in a life-science related subject ( or strong practical lab-based experience in a related field eg histology, pathology, molecular biology ). Excellent interpersonal skills. B e comfortable dealing directly with customers by phone and email Be comfortable dealing directly with customers by phone, email and in person. Ability to work as part of a team ( software engineers, hardware technicians etc ). Clean driving licence. Preferred skills: Cellular pathology experience in clinical or research environment. Knowledge of Pathology image analysis software ( eg quantitative analysis of nuclear, cytoplasmic and membrane biomarkers ). Demonstrable practical experience of microscope imaging Knowledge of slide/tissue preparation, reagent/staining. Knowledge of image file sharing and data transfer ( eg digital slide images distributed over LAN / WAN networks ). Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to organise / prioritise work schedule to achieve sales targets and satisfy customers. Responsibilities: Providing technical support to our team of field sales, technical engineers and their customers Test demonstration units prior to delivery to customers, pack ready for shipping and retest on their return Perform office based customer demonstrations of all digital pathology systems Assisting with tender submission, lead generation, qualify, quote, negotiate to new and repeat customers Keeping our customer database and all other company filing systems up to date, after corresponding with a client. Back up sales, technical support and lead generation for our components and other systems products Attendance at exhibitions / trade shows A fantastic opportunity to join a global, high-tech company.
