Overview

I have been asked to recruit for 3 Dementia specialists: to work within 3 different but outstanding Nursing Homes We are looking for 3 Dementia Queens mixed up with Clinical Leads Let me expand, we need a Nurse with a passion, desire and need to care for Dementia sufferers and their families in the Dorset/Somerset area. Under the direction of the home manager, work closely together in effective collaboration to deliver an outstanding dedicated Dementia service for the residents, and a rewarding environment for staff. To consistently provide the highest standard of dementia and clinical care for the residents, whilst promoting their independence, choice and liberty. Main responsibilities To take a lead role in overseeing the dementia needs of residents, enabling quality of life through effective clinical care, excellent customer service and meaningful activity. To provide up to date knowledge about current thinking in dementia care and use this knowledge to shape evidence based dementia provision in the home. Lead by example, personally demonstrating consistent outstanding dementia care for all the residents in the home by always considering each individual residents needs and creating enabling environments. To be a go to person, providing leadership, clinical advice and support to the staff within the home, the residents, their friends, relatives and any visitors to the home. To be role model for all staff, demonstrating and leading clinical best practice, behaving in a highly professional manor at all times aligned to the NMC Code of Conduct Excellence in dementia care will be promoted by yourself with Carers, Families and Visiting Professionals. We are looking for somebody who is able to solve problems, find solutions, and achieve positive outcomes. You will need to work with the management team to create the most excellent dementia care environment You will ensure that all our residents, are fully supported physically and psychosocially This Clinical Lead/Deputy Manager Nurse Provide appropriate clinical supervision, mentoring, effective communication and leadership of the care team including any visiting agency staff. In conjunction with the Home Manger, support registered nurses with their Revalidation Give guidance and training to the care staff and provide clinical support and direction as required. Support and guide the Senior Care Leads in their duties. Maximise staff involvement with the residents' activities both in and out of the home and encourage leisure pursuits accordingly. Arrange orientation and supervise the completion of the induction programme for all new staff, and if a care assistant, completion of the Care Certificate. Ensure the staffing levels and skill mix on each shift meet with the requirements of the residents, current regulations and company policy. Assist in the appraisal of staff identifying and meeting the training needs of staff, promoting their personal and professional development. Great motivator of staff and gold standard with documentation and record keeping. Assessing, planning implementing and then evaluating care given is a target indicator for this role.
