Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Older Adult Mental Health Service based at New Craigs Hospital as a Dementia Specialist Clinic Nurse. The post holder will focus on providing timely memory clinic assessment as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this includes reviews and carers support. Part of the role will be developing the Dementia Specialist clinic's and contributing towards improving the Older Adult service and providing excellent clinical care. The role will mainly be focused on providing this service in the Inverness area however there will be an expectation to provide clinics elsewhere in Highland on an as required basis so access to a car is essential. You should have experience of working within Older Adult Mental Health Services, either in-patient care or a community setting, together with a knowledge of dementia and older adult mental health as evidenced through professional development. Non-Medical Prescribing qualification is desirable however if the successful post holder does not have this qualification the expectation would be they would apply and complete the course. In addition, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and with other teams is essential.
