Software engineer/Machine Learning London £40,000 - 60,000 My client is an established energy and commodities company with headquarters based in London. They have a strong Data Science team that is looking for a new team member to use cutting edge machine learning to shape the understanding of the world's energy markets, identify new opportunities and turn data into impactful decision making. If you are software developer working within a data engineering/machine learning capacity who is keen to move into a fast growing environment close to the decision makers, then this might be the role for you THE COMPANY: My client is an energy and commodities company trading over seven million barrels of crude oil a day and, at any time, has 250 ships transporting its cargoes. It's clients include national oil companies, multinationals, leading industrial and chemical companies and the world's largest airlines. Founded in 1966, they hold 40 offices worldwide, with revenues in 2017 exceeding $180 billion. THE ROLE: Your role working as a Software Engineer will involve bridging the gap between proof-of-concept research and the robust production systems that drive business value. You will have an input into the Data Science team, Python Development team and Data Engineering team. Other responsibilities will include: Writing scalable and robust data pipelines Helping support the Data Scientists to ensure high level production quality Be an energetic and enthusiastic member of the team Pioneer hybrid workflows of cloud Maintaining an up-to-date testing suite YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: What your role as a Software Engineer will require: Academic background in Computer Science preferably Commercial experience as a Software Developer within a Data Engineering or Machine Learning capacity Extensive experience coding in Python Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes, with their deployment to AWS Some Linux/Windows admin experience would be beneficial THE BENEFITS: The salary for your role as a Software Engineer is between £50,000 - 60,000.
