IT Lead Application Support Analyst / Southend-on-Sea / £25,801 Your new company Southend Borough Council is a unitary authority based in the heart of the town centre offering traditional seaside living that makes it a great place to live and work. The Council are looking to appoint an organised and dedicated individual to lead the Application Support team. Your new role Reporting in to the Head of Delivery you will lead a small team of Application Analysts, taking on the responsibility in providing guidance to your team and ensuring customer issues are dealt with in an effective and efficient manner. Your typical day will see you drive improvement, provide coaching and mentoring to more junior Application Analysts around work practices. You will be required to deal with complex complaints and investigate problems in systems and contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures. Proactively drive the analysis, identification, prioritisation and implementation of improvements and efficiencies to ensure the Council derives maximum value from services. You will cultivate relationships with the Operational Service Leads, IT Business Partners and Product teams to develop a deeper understanding of products used and how they are used by staff and customers. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you will be experienced in coordinating and managing applications used at a service desk level. You will be customer focused and possess strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into clear and concise terms. Your experience in providing support to a portfolio of line of business applications and driving continual improvement in the way the applications are supported, coupled with your experience of providing great customer service and understanding of ITIL frameworks will contribute to your success in this position.
