Overview

We have a vacancy for a Lead Hydraulics Engineer. This is a permanent role. · The purpose of this role is to bolster our Hydraulic abilities and it is therefore crucial that the successful candidate be suitably experienced in Hydraulics. · Location: A large portion of this role will be offshore-based but there may also be a requirement to be Aberdeen workshop or Aberdeen Office based on a semi-regular basis depending on shifting client requirements. This will usually be preparation for offshore work (input into proposals, work packs, assisting with recertification of equipment within the Aberdeen workshop for offshore installation etc). · We’re looking for an experienced Hydraulics individual ideally with plenty of offshore experience carrying out planned and preventative maintenance work. We may also consider individuals from Marine or Defence backgrounds (e.g. experience working on Hydraulic equipment on commercial or MOD vessels). Interest would be experience with deck equipment (from a hydraulics perspective). Candidates may hold ‘Senior’ hydraulic tech/fitter titles at the present time. Purpose of Job: To deliver Hydraulic Engineering Projects both onshore and offshore and Workshop Overhaul and Recertification of Hydraulic Equipment. This will include input to enquiry responses, delivery workpacks and procedures and supervising teams of Hydraulic Technicians to ensure quality, safety, lead time and financial objectives are delivered. Delivering multiple activities related to the provision of “On time delivery” of Hydraulic Engineering outputs that provide solutions to our customers in accordance with their stated requirements, relevant standards or guidelines, and HSEQ processes and procedures. Key Areas of Responsibility: Safety and Quality To adhere to all and/or Client and Industry processes and procedures. Develop processes and procedures as required to complete onshore and offshore workscopes. Report all HSEQ issues in compliance with and/or Worksite requirements. Technical Duties To ensure full compliance, during all engineering and related activities, with regard to sound engineering practice and adherence to relevant internal and external procedures, guidelines and standards To deliver safe, economic, engineered solutions, considering all aspects from feasibility studies through to commissioning, that maximises return on investment and profitably whilst satisfying all customer and internal requirements To liaise with customers to establish their needs i.e. technical specifications and operating parameters, and provide technical solution(s) that best meets the requirements of their application. This will include survey work both offshore/onshore The specification of Hydraulic Components for Systems, developing Hydraulic Schematics and P&ID’s Develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements for delivery of offshore/onsite Scopes of Work To complete overhaul of Hydraulic Equipment including Accumulators, Cylinders, Pumps, Motors and Valves To undertake Servicing and Repair of Offshore and Marine Equipment To undertake Installation of Hydraulic Equipment/Components To undertake Hydraulic Flushing and Pressure Testing of Hydraulic Systems To liaise with suppliers on technical and engineering matters This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89840296
