Overview
Are you the reliable, "go-to" accountant in your business? Are you seeking a No.1, hands-on Accounting role, working directly with the MD? Can you balance the demands of a broad finance role in a fast-paced SME? Equally comfortable ensuring the integrity of the ledgers and providing analysis to enable commercial decisions? If you're confident you can answer these questions, we'd love to hear from you The Challenge This is a newly-created position in a small, growing business as such you'll have a flexible attitude and the desire to put "your own stamp" on the role. Responsibilities includes; Assist the MD with the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Distil and report the key messages on performance against KPIs on a regular basis. Assist in the revews of pricing, margins and product range. Produce monthly management accounts, review performance against budget and identify improvement opportunities Ensure that financial systems, controls and processes are robust, compliant and support current activities. Prepare and submit VAT returns. Administer weekly and monthly payroll. Support, develop and provide cover for the Accounts Assistant. A competent, diligent accountant, either AAT qualified or qualified by experience (QBE). Track record of performing a broad accounting role in a small business.
