Purchasing Manager – Wales – Food Produce Supplier – Paying up to £50,000 The Company: A specialist supplier of ingredients to major food manufacturers, food service industries and companies. The Role: Due to the rapid growth and expansion of this company a Purchasing Manager is required. You will be responsible for sourcing & buying high quality food produce, chemicals and commodities locally and internationally. You will be responsible for sourcing the best value, prices, and quality to ensure you deliver sustainable profitable growth. This is a key role, offering the rewarding challenge of driving the business forward. The role offers a long term career opportunity to an ambitious, commercially astute professional. The Responsibilities: Regular review of supplier base - considering and recommending new suppliers. Advising on purchase pricing, trends and recommend strategies to optimise prices. Working with the Technical Department developing the supplier lists. Developing and implementing processes within the business. Carrying out regular research to ensure sourcing of the best products and suppliers in terms of Quality, Price and Supply. Monitoring trends. The Suitable Candidate Will: Have good knowledge of the Fresh Food Produce Sector. Have current or previous, buying/sourcing experience within Fresh Produce/FMCG environment. Have strong presentation, communication and written skills. Have a thorough understanding of global product sourcing, together with local growing seasons. Demonstrate cost saving solutions in a previous role. Be computer literate - Windows. Be willing to travel as and when required. The Package: A basic salary of circa: £50,000 - depending on experience, plus car allowance/expenses and pension.
