Overview

IT Project Manager – Slough My client is looking to recruit and experience IT Project Manager to join their IT Change team. The IT Project Manager will support the IT Lead Business Analysts to define and deliver IT and business process changes across the organisation. Role Accountabilities Establish and run the Project Management Office (PMO) ensuring clear reporting on progress of all changes across the IT estate. Proactively manage a portfolio of projects, some large and some smaller, according to the needs of the business and IT strategy. Define approach to programmes/projects with phased implementations where necessary to deliver business benefits effectively and efficiently. Produce clear project initiation documentation, including scope, budget, timescales, phasing and risks Run the projects according to best practice project management principles, tools and methods (e.g. regular reporting, RAID logs etc) Evaluate options to deliver business requirements and present proposed solutions clearly with supporting analysis for validation and review, to include cost/benefit analysis and business process, application and data impact Produce clear and detailed documentation of operational business requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements and definition of test plans Work with the IT Services team and business stakeholders to establish service design and service levels for new or changed IT systems/services/applications Ensure quality process, applications and systems documentation is provided and/or updated as a result of any change Ensure all changes follow best practice security guidelines, such that capabilities and service provided are ‘secure by design’ Ensure an appropriate risk-based approach is taken to testing, and that all testing is completed in line with test plans Provide training as appropriate in new or updated processes or application capability, ensuring that users and first line support are fully aware of changes Monitor and report on benefits realisation as defined; or ensure that processes/metrics are put in place to measure these Work with the IT team to define, implement and ensure continuous improvement of ITIL processes. Knowledge, experience, qualifications: Good understanding of IT applications and services, with technical IT background, ideally in the financial services would be beneficial In depth delivery experience of IT project, programme and portfolio management, ideally PRINCE2 or MSP qualified. Experience of both Waterfall and Agile methods would be advantageous Basic understanding of ITIL Service Strategy and Service Transition processes, ideally at least ITIL Foundation certified Basic understanding of business analysis and process mapping techniques. Qualification with ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or Six Sigma/Lean certification would be an added bonus Expertise within the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of software applications Excellent organisational skills and interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially relating to presentation of complex information clearly and simply Self-motivated with good problem solving ability
