Job Title: Quality Engineer – IATF, Core Tools, Automotive Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 DOE PLUS 22 days holiday bank holidays, work place pension, death in service, BUPA Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (additional hours may be required to meet business requirements) Job Type: Permanent Job Reference: PH9844 My client are expanding their Quality team hence the requirement for a Quality Engineer (preferably with supervisory experience) to manage four established Quality Technicians. You will be the on-site quality engineer ensuring consistent quality of the product(s) and compliance of IATF standards. This role will report to the Operations Manager. Qualifications · A recognised Degree-level qualification in Science · Member of a certified Industry organisation (CQI) or equivalent Essentials · Several years’ experience in a Quality department within automotive industry including experience of IATF16949 · Experienced auditor to IATF standard · Core Tools trained and certificate held · IT literate · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Strong interpersonal skills · Numerate Desirables · VDA trained auditor · Six Sigma green belt Duties and responsibilities Specific responsibilities · Preventive/predictive maintenance, servicing, calibrations of equipment and facility in the work area · Overseeing document control · Approval of departmental controlled docs · SOP updates · Full involvement in external audits, supported by rest of Supervisor team and Operations Manager · Internal and supplier auditing · Product audits · Sign off on TEOs and MRBs · Reporting KPI performance to Operations Manager · PPAP · FMEA, Control Plan · Customer complaints, RMAs investigation and reporting · Project lead · MSA design and implementation · Maintenance of approved supplier list (ASL) and approved parts list (APL) · Supplier risk assessments · CAPAs including SCARs · Product qualifications · Maintenance of equipment list · Control of non-conforming product · Sign off on change management (minor) General · Adhere to all company policies, procedures ensuring that all processes and procedures comply with operational and statutory requirements · Plan and manage internal communications and possess an awareness of corporate brand, direction, aims and activities. · Be vigilant of deficiencies in business operations and pass on any unresolved or continuing issues and recommendations to the Operations Manager · Carry out any other duties necessary with a willingness to be flexible with working hours to respond to the needs of the company. · Undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time. · Undertake training consistent with developing skills relevant to those duties and responsibilities of the role. · Be vigilant in matters relating to health and safety within and external to the company’s offices. · Workforce management of the Quality Technicians · Hiring, termination, disciplinary investigation and action, mentoring, appraisals, goal defining · Training, leave management, task allocation · Engaging the front line staff in process improvement activities · Support other areas as necessary · Working technical knowledge of work processes to be able to question activities or unexpected occurrences · Act as cover for Quality Technicians as necessary · Approval of purchase requisition and transfer orders · Budget control for department · Continual improvement: seeking ideas from employees and ensuring implementation of worthwhile suggestions · Adherence to H, S and E rules and ensuring workforce comply · Health and safety risk assessment Wilde Associates is working in the capacity of an Employment Agency for this role
