Overview
Description : JOB TITLE: Nights -Transport Coordinator LOCATION : Lurgan HOURS: 9pm - 7am Mon - Fri (1 in 3 weekends) KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Effectively Follow the daily plan as laid in place by the Transport Planners and Coordinators. Liaising with the drivers and ensuring collections are met, and the pallet counts planned are correct. Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments Optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers’ hours legislation Re-Plan and creating new shipping’s and liaising with the drivers and shipping companies with the vehicle ETAs, helping ensure that the planned trucks get the desired sailings. Updating customers with ETAs through the TMS (Mandata) Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT’s, etc. Ensuring all accidents/incidents/near misses are logged and reported in line with company procedures Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc. Increasing staff retention and maintaining good morale, reporting any driver’s issues or concerns to management. In turn, communicating any operational changes that may affect a driver’s daily duties Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, adhering to all health & safety/safe systems of work Knowledge, Skills & Experience : Significant knowledge & experience of tachograph/ driving rules and regulations CPC National desirable but not essential Previous management/ supervisory experience Attention to detail/accuracy Planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy Negotiating skills, ability to influence and steer Ability to work without direct supervision Adaptable and methodical approach to work/training Conscientious and reliable Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines Able to work as part of a team or individually Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation Significant transport experience Customer service driven Click APPLY NOW to kick-start your application and become one step closer to becoming part of the award winning logistics company that is Culina Group.
