PLASgran is part of the Berry BPI Division, a $1.3bn turnover business offering a wide range of plastics technologies from blown flexible film to injection moulding.With a turnover of £35m p.a., PLASgran has seen exponential growth over the last 5 years and, with further investment, high quality service levels and added value focus, this dynamic and ambitious market leader in rigid recycled plastics, is poised for further significant growth. As a result, a talented Procurement Specialist is required to join the onsite senior management team, to assume responsibility for managing purchasing strategy and all raw material purchasing on behalf of PLASgran. You will take the lead on developing relationships with existing suppliers of waste plastics, whilst sourcing new supplier opportunities, developing supply partnerships with multi-national waste management companies, local authorities and standalone suppliers of post-consumer recycled plastics, in the UK and Internationally, whilst identifying emerging supply markets. To underpin the above, you will develop best practice systems and processes, leading a small team of Administration and field Purchasing personnel, demonstrating a practical, hands on approach to ensure KPI objectives are met and exceeded. Educated to a good standard, you must be able to demonstrate experience in both strategic and hands on procurement, within a plastics recycling or waste management environment.Your communication and negotiation skills will be combined with experience of process and systems improvement, and a commitment to leading and developing your team. Candidates with a strong commercial, business development or supply chain background, in waste management, will also be considered.
