Overview
Buyer Manufacturing Location: Blackburn Salary: £20,000 - £30,000 benefits NJR are currently working with leading Food Manufacturer, who are now seeking an ambitious Buyer who is looking for a new challenge within a rapidly expanding and highly driven business. Working from their offices based in Blackburn you will be operating within their busy Purchasing team liaising with vendors and internal departments, order placement, tracking of deliveries, stock management and replenishment ensuring cost effective purchases along with stock availability. Responsibilities Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs. Liaise with suppliers, being effective in the negotiation of costs to ensure price competitiveness of supply. Benchmark prospective vendors and price comparison against existing approved vendors. Communicate with suppliers to agree delivery schedules and checking order progress to ensure that they are maintained. Analyse and report on spend, service levels, trends and market information. Investigate and follow through to a satisfactory resolve of non-compliance of goods. Collate and maintain vendor audits & product documentation records for company compliance. Investigate and resolve invoice queries and service level issues. Specify and source products and services for NPD or business needs in conjunction with applicable departments. Assisting with stock takes and analysis. Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition. Key attributes and skills: Good relationship building skills both verbally and written; confident in dealing with a diverse range of people. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Adaptable and flexible, and with a high level of attention to detail. Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications Experience with MS NAV Dynamics is a benefit. Previous purchasing experience or procurement related qualifications. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to work as part of a team or individually and have good time management. Full UK and clean driving licence are preferred.
