Overview
Assistant Buyer Manufacturing Location: Blackburn Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 benefits NJR are currently working with leading food Manufacturer, who are now seeking an ambitious Purchasing Assistant/Assistant Buyer to join their purchasing team. Working from their offices based in Blackburn you will be operating within their busy Purchasing team liaising with vendors and internal departments, order placement, tracking of deliveries, stock management and replenishment ensuring cost effective purchases along with stock availability. Responsibilities Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs. Liaise with suppliers, being effective in the negotiation of costs to ensure price competitiveness of supply. Benchmark prospective vendors and price comparison against existing approved vendors. Communicate with suppliers to agree delivery schedules and checking order progress to ensure that they are maintained. Reporting of spend, service levels, trends and market information. Investigate and follow through to a satisfactory resolve of noncompliance of goods. Collate and maintain vendor/product documentation for company compliance. Investigate and resolve invoice queries and service level issues. Assisting with stock takes and analysis. Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition Requirements Good relationship building skills both verbally and written; confident in dealing with a diverse range of people. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Adaptable and flexible, and with a high level of attention to detail. Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, skills in Excel are of particular importance. Experience with MS NAV Dynamics is desirable. Ability to work as part of a team or individually and have good time management. A high level of enthusiasm and initiative. Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis. Must be fluent in English. Polite, courteous and well presented. Full UK and clean driving licence is preferred.
