Overview

We supply a unique portfolio of atmospheric and process gases, equipment and services. Reporting to the Basingstoke Facility Manager, the Sales Centre Driver position is responsible for the delivery of Gas cylinders to customers in accordance with all safety, quality and service standards. The job involves operating a Large Goods Vehicle for delivery to Customers as well as a Forklift back at site, in the sorting and picking of orders for Customers. You will also be dealing with Customer Orders and enquiries and so will have a ‘can do’, people focused attitude. This is a role that combines operational duties with commercial focus. Key interfaces across our business include the Agent Support Team, Asset Management Team, Merchant Administration Team, Customer Services and Commercial Team and your communication style will ensure alignment on best practices and consistency of approach. You will enjoy being part of this wider business network and value working collaboratively. Equally you will be a team player within the small site Team. You’ll be highly organised, safety focused and able to demonstrate commercial acumen in your execution of the role. This role operates within a 37.5 hour week-Monday to Friday with the usual working pattern of 07.30- 15.30 daily. Very occasional Saturday work may be required. Key Accountabilities: Ensuring Company’s and Legislative Safety Standards are complied with and maintained at all times on site Picking, Sorting and Loading of Cylinders for Customer Deliveries Operation of LGV in the delivery of Cylinders to Customers Operation of Forklift in the loading of vehicles for Customer Deliveries Managing the Maintenance and Operation of Cylinder Delivery Vehicle in line with O Licence Requirements Maintaining a high standard of Housekeeping at all times Ensuring Basic Safety Books are up to date and that all personnel on site are completing mandatory activities Dealing with Customers, following up on enquiries, supplying leads to the commercial team Stewardship of Customers, reporting of Competitor Activity Minimum Requirements And Qualifications: HGV class 2 CE with experience gained through employment Large Goods Vehicle Licence (class 1 & 2) ADR Licence (Packages) Driver Certificate of Professional Competence Forklift Licence (highly desirable) PC Skills Knowledge of Local Areas is advantageous Good general Education CPC What We Offer We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
