Overview
THE COMPANY: Brewster Partners are working with a Sheffield based client who are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer. THE JOB: Main Tasks of the role: Accountable for the quotation and completion of the design, technical calculations and project execution of a job. (Including aspects of and related health and safety, documentation, legal requirements, including compliance) Managing and understanding customer expectations including delivering customized solutions through project analysis and solution based concept Liaising with suppliers, production, and relevant bodies to ensure deadlines are met, and projects are within budget and or addressed appropriately when unexpected problems arise Autonomy over technical sales and the customer relationship Support admin and sales staff with technical questions, queries when required. Including technical support generally within the team. THE CANDIDATE: Strong, fundamental knowledge of lifting and mechanical design HNC qualification in engineering Proficiency and experience in Auto-CAD 2D / CAD based software Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment Ability to work independently or within a team, based on instructions or requests by a colleague, customer or manager Ability to remain self-motivated and self-manage Detailed product understanding and know-how (what pieces go where and how to find reference information) Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft programmes; in particular Word formatting and overall documentation presentation skills THE BENEFITS: Pension 8:30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 2pm finish on Friday Annual Bonus Brewster Partners Engineering is a division of the Brewster Partners Recruitment Group focusing on the recruitment of talent in engineering, technical and operations jobs in South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the Midlands.
