Aston Charles Ltd ,
London, Greater London
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £25,000 per annum

Overview

The In-House Insurance Team of this award-winning Property Manager and Developer has a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Claims Handler. You’ll be joining a highly professional and welcoming team, and will add value to its claims handling capabilities, taking pride in delivering the highest levels of service, whilst maintaining the drive for continuous improvement. With a minimum of 12 months’ claims experience of handling building damage claims, gained from within an Insurance Broker, Company or Loss Adjuster, you’ll be responsible for proactively handling a caseload of mainly residential buildings claims. Reporting into, and with support from the Property Claims Manager, you’ll be handling claims from first advice to settlement, liaising with Insurers, Loss Adjusters, Surveyors and Property Managers, when appropriate. You’ll be competent in assessing and validating claims against policy coverage, and will be able to provide your own recommendations for the best solutions and approach to the strategy of each claim. In addition to your technical skills, our client will be looking for evidence of outstanding communication, team-working and client service. You’ll also be able to display high levels of empathy in what will be difficult and stressful circumstances for the insured clients. This role has been created purely as a result of internal growth, and there will undoubtedly be future career opportunities as this outstanding organisation continues to expand its property portfolio. In addition to this being a superb career opportunity, you’ll benefit from a truly comprehensive suite of employee benefits that includes 26 days holiday in year one rising incrementally to 29 after year 5, Life Assurance, an outstanding pension arrangement where the employer will double your contribution up to a maximum of 12% from them, and optional career breaks after five years’ service. The 'cherry on the cake’ is the ability to offer flexible working arrangements to suit the individual. Whilst this is a permanent, full-time role, the actual working hours can be agreed according to your needs. For example 7-3, 8-4, 10-6 and any other combination can be arranged. Additionally, agile working can possibly be accommodated, with occasional working from home possible too. Our client is a Stonewall Diversity Champion, a Disability Confident (committed) Employer and champion of mental health awareness, and therefore invites applications from all interested individuals who can demonstrate the pre-requisite claims handling skills required.
