Overview

Exclusive Housing Finance and Admin Officer for Lambeth and Southwark Housing Association in Kennington Your new company I am exclusively working with Lambeth and Southwark Housing Association to find a Housing Finance and Admin Officer. We are a small but developing social housing provider with over 300 properties in management, this position reports directly to the Operations Manager, and the role plays a vital part in the administration and smooth-running of the office and is pivotal in the co-ordination and implementation of office procedures. Complete responsibility for the day to day finance function, including input of rent processing and supplier payments. The post holder has the responsibility to deal with enquiries, and requests including postage, photocopying, and telephone answering and mail management. The post holder will also have frequent responsibility for specific projects and tasks. Your new role Finance Processing all income and expenditure (writing cheques and sending out payments; making bacs payments; paying cheques into the bank etc) Inputting all transactions onto Pyramid accounting system Day to day management of office cash; production of monthly spread sheets and entering into our accounting system Posting of rents and invoices, prepare annual rent and service charge increases Weekly and Monthly reconciliation of all bank statements and reconciliation of current and rent accounts Administration Responsible for general housekeeping and all office supplies Assisting the Operations Manager in the updating of all policies and procedures Answering telephone, screen and direct calls, take and relay messages, deal with queries and provide information as necessary Be proactive in finding more efficient ways of working through use of new tools or procedures General administrative support including preparing letters and documents, receive and sort mail and deliveries, schedule appointments Assist with project related administrative work as required What you'll need to succeed Essential Experience of accounting and/or bookkeeping Knowledge of financial systems, including accounting systems and budgetary control Excellent administrative skills Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal Ability to work calmly under pressure and keep to deadlines Organised and able to manage various projects simultaneously Ability to work flexibly, independently but also as part of a small team IT literate, working with Microsoft word and excel Desirable Accounting and/or bookkeeping training or qualifications Experience of using Pyramid (or other accounting packages i.e. SAGE) Interest in and knowledge of social housing Personal Attributes A self starter Team player A proactive thinker and perceptive individual Can demonstrate attention to detail, initiative and reliability Enjoy organising, planning and delivering work Enthusiastic and engaging Able to present well and act professionally What you'll get in return Role: Finance and Administration Officer Hours of work: full time - 35 hrs (flexible) Starting salary: £33,798 plus employer contribution pension per annum, Notice period: 4 weeks in writing Probation period: 6 months 25 days plus (1 extra day per year to the maximum of 5) holiday leave plus bank holidays What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
