Overview
Are you looking for an Accounts Senior role within a well-established firm of accountants? An opportunity has arisen at this firm’s Reading office to join the small, dynamic team, assisting client managers and directors and carrying out accounts assignments for a variety of owner manged businesses and individuals. Reporting to the Director/Office Manager, the Accounts Senior will have the following duties and responsibilities: Carry out accounts assignments, review/prepare management accounts and VAT returns Tax computations and SA tax returns Company secretarial Research and analyse financial statements and where applicable, financial statement presentation Proactively participate with maintaining client relationships, acquiring a working knowledge of the client’s business and interacting with key client’s management to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements To ensure personal billings are accurate and timely so that budgets and forecasts are met Any other duties as requested at a level appropriate to this role. The successful candidate will be expected to keep up to date on all generally accepted accounting principles reporting rules and to manage and maintain their own knowledge and skills to ensure continuous development. To be a serious contender for this position, applicants will satisfy the following criteria: Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ post qualification work experience as an accountant within practice Be fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) or be exceptionally qualified by experience Display professionalism, dependability, integrity, trustworthiness with a cooperative attitude Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, CCH, Sage Line 50, Xero and IRIS Excellent communication skills with experience in a client facing role and client meetings Be self-motivated and highly organised with an acute attention to detail This is a full-time position; however, the firm would consider applications from strong candidates who are looking for a part-time role.
