Overview
Independent Reviewing Officer - Children's Planning & Review Team A Local Authority near the Wandsworth are seeking a part-time Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join the Children's Planning & Review Team and play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. This improving local authority believes that by investing in new ways of thinking and working, you'll have everything you need to do the job you trained for. In turn, that means they're able to deliver the best possible support for children and young people. OFSTED (2018) reported that our 'reviews of children in care are timely and child focused. Children and young people are supported to attend their reviews. They are also seen between reviews, and children spoken to said that they knew how to contact their IRO. Progress against plans is monitored'. As an IRO you are critical in carrying out the quality assurance function for children including chairing statutory reviews, supporting children's participation and making sure their views are heard and that they impact upon plans. You will be expected to maintain oversight and contact with children between reviews to ensure their plans are being realised in a timely way. You will be proactive in promoting children's physical health, emotional well-being, education and help them successfully transition as to adulthood. On behalf of our children you will also carry out the statutory function of holding the Council to account role as corporate parent.
