Overview
I am currently recruiting for a friendly, mid-sized law firm in Central London, who are looking for a Paralegal/PA to join their busy, growing Real Estate team. The main purpose of the role is to provide PA/Paralegal support to the Real Estate, Real Estate Disputes and Construction Departments, reporting directly to the Head of Real Estate. Main duties include: Manage schedules and various legal tasks for the team including organising meetings and liaising with clients on their behalf; Assist in the drafting and issuing of both long and short form appointments & collateral warrantees regarding construction projects; Open/close files, carry out conflict checks, draft client care letters, submit SDLT returns and perform searches; Draft and proof read various legal documents including leases, CPSEs, licenses to alter, completion statements, transaction reports and land registry forms; Swear statutory declarations; Reply to Land Registry requisitions; Obtain official copies from the Land Registry; Manage the sales of several leasehold properties for a client; Responsible for registration and discharge of mortgages on behalf of banks and other major clients; Partake in legal research including the application of empty rates relief for commercial properties and new attestation clauses for non-UK companies; Assist in obtaining injunctions and in residential conveyances; Raise requisitions for cheques and completed forms for bank transfers; Perform completions and exchanges; To draft letters proposing the terms of a conditional fee arrangement to a client; Send updates on ongoing files to two major clients; Record time for relevant tasks (mainly regarding construction work); Manage filing for fee earners; Assist in putting together promotional material for the real estate department; Interact with clients and lawyers from foreign jurisdictions; If you have a minimum of six months’ paralegal experience, either in London or locally, and would like to further your career at one of the City’s friendliest law firms, please get in touch with us nat RB Recruit.
