Department: IT Services Salary: £47,325 - £52,833 per annum Location: Mile End Employment type: Permanent Industry: Education, IT Are you an experienced e-learning Software Development Manager who is ready for new challenges? The role: Queen Mary University of London is a member of the Russell Group and has gained a reputation for the high quality of its academic teaching and research. It teaches over 23,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The university employs 4,500 staff and is based across five campuses in east and central London. You will manage a team of three Analyst/Developers, working closely with the e-learning unit to design, build, configure, test, deploy and support learning applications within the VLE. You will be responsible for developing the university's e-learning capabilities. The members of the e-learning software development team are the specialists in Moodle software development and have in-depth knowledge of the data held in the system, taking responsibility for planning, technical implementation, development and operational support. You will need to identify customer requirements and use project management methodology and your communication skills to enable the team to provide effective and efficient delivery of e-learning software solutions to customers. Requirements: You will need to have extensive experience of Virtual Learning Environments within a higher education institution You should have experience of managing and delivering successful IT software development projects to the business on time and in budget Good knowledge of Moodle, PHP and MySQL is also desirable The successful applicant should be educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantial experience built up by working in progressively more challenging IT software development roles
