About the roleWe are looking for a talented and ambitious Fire Engineering specialist to join our rapidly growing, dynamic multi-disciplinary consultancy. This is an excellent time to join the company in a pivotal role developing the fire engineering capability from its inception.Working across a variety of sectors we envisage you will carry out detailed fire engineering design and analysis, fire hazard identification and fire risk assessment, smoke control design and smoke plume modelling and develop computer simulations of fire dynamics and fire spread. It is therefore imperative that you have a proven track record of project delivery, together with notable projects across a variety of sectors.Client care and repeat business are intrinsic to the role you will need to demonstrate proven experience of wining work and ideally bring with you a new set of client contacts.A prerequisite to the role is experience in developing, recruiting and leading a team of people. We are looking for an exceptional individual who can shape and develop the Fire Engineering offering for the company.Principal responsibilities and accountabilitiesAuthoring Fire Strategies including balance recommendation of passive and active provisions to achieve compliant and safe solutionTo undertake fire safety design on projects across a variety of sectors with an excellent understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant standardsResponsible for assisting in the delivery of project to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectationsMaintain good relationships with Client's key representative, and contribute to the marketing / networking of the company to potential customersHelp generate new and repeat business from both internal and external client.Undertake design checks and reviews in accordance with company proceduresRise / promote the level of technical excellence relating to fire engineering within the companyContribute to the overall team development and growth through strategic inputs, bringing market intelligence, skill development, mentoring and bringing required talentTo operate autonomously and/or as team leaderDelivery of fire management audits of client properties by reviewing evidence which demonstrates complianceAssisting in the development of further fire related opportunities through technical articles, speaking opportunities and bid supportEnquiry/bid management, PQQ and tender productionFinancial reporting including cost of further works reporting, fee monitoring / fee targetsKeep informed of design trends, competitor innovation and advance in techniquesQualified to degree level in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering or similar (Accredited by the Institution of Fire Engineers) with relevant experienceRecognised professional membership of Fire Engineering InstitutionEligible to pass criteria for security clearance and airside pass applicationsFull UK Driving LicenceOur network of offices are appealing, friendly and comfortable spaces, easily accessible by car or public transport.
