Overview

Our client is a leading design manufacturer in their industry who deliver forward thinking, innovative products and solutions to their customer base. This is an incredibly exciting time for the business who have recently embarked on significant growth plans to include a site move and proactively increasing the number of talented individuals working in their teams. They are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced and passionate Quality Manager who has a desire to improve processes gradually and as seamlessly as possible. Main responsibilities: Responsible for the Quality function, leading the development and implementation of appropriate Quality related procedures and processes to ensure effective Quality compliance. Responsible for oversight of compliance of the Business Management System to appropriate industry standards and accreditations. Responsible for a robust and comprehensive internal audit process. Manage external audit processes and events - act as the interface for external audit bodies. Responsible for managing equipment calibration compliance. Lead the customer relationship from a quality perspective - maintain strong and constructive relationships with customer representatives. Lead the quality problem resolution / NCR process utilising problem-solving techniques and tools such as 8D / PPS, DMAIC, and 5-Why's / Ishikawa - drive process improvements to reduce NCR's. Manage the organisational adherence to key Customer test specifications as appropriate. Manage the Supplier quality interface - measuring Supplier performance and managing Supplier NCR's to a satisfactory conclusion. Manage the performance of the Quality team including day to day working and annual performance reviews. Act as subject matter expert on Quality processes - provide mentoring and guidance on FAIR, PPAP, PSW, FMEA, 8D / PPS, SPC, Control Plans, NCR Management etc. Support Bid Management and New Product Introduction processes with appropriate quality controls and documentation including Quality Plans, Quality reports etc. Key Skills & Experience: QMS Auditor (internal / Lead) qualification and Six Sigma (Green Belt) is essential. Relevant Engineering discipline (HNC) is highly advantageous. Exposure and understanding of Engineering and Manufacturing environments. Sound knowledge of Business Management Systems - ISO 9001. Aware of standards and compliance to ISO15085. Experience of leading and managing teams Sound organisational and communication skills Ability to perform consistently under pressure Lead and motivate others to continually improve performance / give recognition for good performance Strong data analytical / interpretation abilities and strategy planning / deployment experience Critical Thinking skills - sound problem solving abilities in a logical and structured manner. Additional Information: The core working hours are Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 16:15 and Friday 07:00 - 12:00. The company offers 25 days annual leave plus the 8 bank holidays.
