About The Role In this role you’ll lead the Supplier Management Team within the procurement function, which is responsible for managing supplier performance through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM). The supplier relationship management team plays this pivotal role across four streams: contract management, performance management, relationship management and sustainable procurement. This is a challenging and influential role where you’ll be the lead in building, developing and implementing the SRM strategy for CBS,demonstrating the benefits of managing strategic suppliers and capturing post contract value from key business relationships. Creating and implementing that strategy will involve extensive engagement with internal stakeholders to identify requirements and priorities, a good understanding of current and evolving trends in supplier management relevant to CBS and knowledge of the regulatory arrangements that apply to this area. You’ll also have a good understanding of trends in relation to sustainable procurement. In addition, the role includes responsibility for providing clear and consistent leadership for the Supplier Management Team and buildingthe capacity, capability and expertise within the team. As a senior member of the Society’s Procurement Function, you’llbe required to take a leading role in relation to the management and development of the function. In addition, you’ll have responsibility for the identification, reporting and mitigation of third party risk in line with the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. About You You’ll be a subject matter expert in Supplier Relationship Management with a truly strategic perspective, whilst having a thorough understanding of end to end procurement processes. You ‘ll understand broader market trends in supplier management and have demonstrable experience of identifying opportunities and innovations that will create value and create mutual tangible benefits from supplier management. It’s imperative that you have significant experience of building and implementing an SRM strategy and processes from the baseline, demonstrating delivery of benefits as well as procurement expertise. You’ll have expert knowledge of supplier measurement and evaluation systems, based on balanced scorecard principles. Extensive experience in establishing SRM processes is critical for this role as well as contract management expertise and significant experience of managing suppliers to service level agreements. As a proven leader you will be able to: lead, motivate and engage not only your own team but play a key role in the management and development of the entire Procurement Function and our wider supply chain, working closely with the Head of Procurement & SRM on this area. You’ll be adept at developing effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and also key third party organisations including regulator, communicating effectively at a senior level with highly developed written, verbal and presentation skills and delivering change through relevant projects and initiatives.
