Job Advert: Candidates must have a current NMC registration to continue with the application . Job summary - Are you looking for a new challenge working within the clinical research profession? If so you may be the person we are looking for. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, flexible and self-motivated registered senior nurse to join our Research & Development Nursing Teams.The post holder will provide and manage a Research Nursing Service, predominately but not restricted to the Gastroenterology Department. Based predominantly at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. However there may be a requirement to provide the service at other local sites, as workload dictates. (Please note this is position is offered at 0.8wte,30 hrs) The post holder will work collaboratively with Leading Principle Investigators, Lead Research Nurse and the Research team, along with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide an opportunity for patients to participate in research studies. The Senior Research nurse will lead on complex studies and manage a caseload of their own together with supporting other studies and staff members. They will manage and support the research staff within their teams to enable the safe recruitment of patients into clinical research, including clinical trials of drugs and new interventions within set time limits. They will support the delivery of a mixed portfolio of studies and ensure capacity and capability to safely deliver research is assessed along with managing workload distribution throughout the teams effectively. Therefore the post holder will require excellent communication, organisational and time management skills. The post holder will work in conjunction with other team members ensuring all research undertaken within the department safeguards the well being of the participants and is conducted within the research governance framework.
