Job Description

University Hospital is one of the biggest UK hospital complexes. It includes state of the art medical technology coupled with modern, purpose built facilities for patients- all on a single site. Our department has four Cardiac Catheter Suites and one mobile lab based at Rugby St Cross. Two of the UHCW labs are equipped with the latest GE Innova single plane flat plate technology; Lab 4 is a state of the art Philips Biplane that is used for Neuro Interventional cases and complex EP; the mobile lab at St Cross is equipped with Siemen's Artis single plane equipment. Our multi-disciplinary team consists of seven Interventional Consultant Cardiologists, Four Electrophysiology Consultants, two Heart Failure Consultants and three Neuro Radiologists. At present there are seven radiographers, eight nurses and each lab is supported by a Cardiac Physiologist (on rotation). University hospital cardiac catheter lab is a tertiary referral centre serving a population of 80,000 we facilitate day case transfers and a primary PCI All of our Radiographers are ILS trained and complete training in IV cannulation through Birmingham City University. Some of our radiographers are trained to scrub both for Neuro and Cardiac cases; they actively participate in the Lab list planning and coordination. We are looking for radiographers who can: * Work as part of a multi disciplinary team Are able to perform a full range of radiographic duties to a consistently high standard in all areas of the cardiac catheter suite. * To participate in providing a Cardiac X-Ray service for the Cardiac Catheter Labs, and a neuro interventional service; while promoting a high standard of patient care and safe practice. * To liaise with other members of staff, and to be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the cardiac catheter suite in accordance with departmental protocols, providing management guidance during the absence of the Radiographer manager. * Participate in an out of hour's service.
