Senior Manager - IT Procurement
Overview
About The Role You’ll lead the IT Procurement Team within the Procurement Function with responsibility for the successful management and execution of IT related procurement activity. The team is responsible for IT procurement and sourcing projects across managed services, software, hardware, telecoms and professional services, with the mandate to drive value through best in class strategic sourcing and category management. This is a challenging and influential role where you’ll be the lead in building, developing and implementing the IT Procurement strategy for CBS, demonstrating the benefits of procurement within IT. Creating and implementing that strategy will involve extensive engagement with internal stakeholders, in particular the CIO and their leadership team, to identify requirements and priorities, Its essential you have a good understanding of current and evolving trends within IT Procurement and knowledge of the regulatory arrangements which apply to this area. In addition, you’ll be responsible for providing clear and consistent leadership for the IT Procurement Team and building the capacity, capability and expertise within the team. As a senior member of the Society’s Procurement Function you’ll be required to take a leading role in relation to the management and development of the function. In addition, you will have responsibility for the identification, reporting and mitigation of third party risk in line with the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. About You MCIPS qualified, you’ll be arespected subject matter expert in IT procurement with a truly strategicperspective and have a thorough understanding of end to end procurementprocesses. You’ll understand broader market trends in IT procurement and havestrong procurement, sourcing and category management expertise across ITcategories which will be reflected in a track record of success. You’ll haveprior experience of undertaking procurement activities with leading IT vendors. As a proven leader you will beable to: lead, motivate and engage not only your own team but play a key rolein the management and development of the entire procurement function and ourwider supply chain, working closely with the Head of Procurement & SRM onthis area. You’ll be persuasive and credible, an organised planner and naturalproblem solver. It’s imperative that you are able to develop effectiverelationships with both internal stakeholders and also key third partyorganisations including regulators. You have an ability to communicateeffectively at a senior level with highly developed written, verbal andpresentation skills which coupled with your other attributes will enable you todeliver transformational change across the business.
