Your new role A newly created construction lawyer position reporting into the Head of the Legal function, as part of a small but highly respected and well-integrated team. The position will involve an excellent mix of non-contentious construction matters, including dealing with JCT, sub-contracts, collateral warranties, parent company guarantees and tendering work. The successful candidate will also involve liaising with stakeholders across the different areas of construction life-cycle, including supply chain, regulatory and insurance colleagues. Further, there will be an element of contentious work to take on. The role will additionally involve providing relevant legal and commercial training to different areas of the organisation. What you'll need to succeed You will be a qualified construction lawyer with training either in the UK or another prominent Common Law jurisdiction (unfortunately the business is unable to engage with candidates who would require sponsorship). As a guide, the role is pitched at 2-3 PQE, but the business will readily consider candidates at other levels as long as they have the requisite experience. You will have excellent exposure to typical construction contracts and the associated business challenges, and you will be able to showcase an ability to manage stakeholders at different levels. Ultimately you will learn quickly and have the desire to make a long-term contribution to what is a successful, ambitious and growing organisation with an excellent market reputation.
