JOB PURPOSE Nominet is looking to aggressively expand its cyber security business and is seeking an experienced Customer Architect to help secure new clients, drive forwared successful customer engagements and help develop our product roadmaps. The Customer Presales Engineer will play a vital role in growing Nominet’s cyber security business unit by supporting the Technical, Product and Sales teams working in the CyberSecurity organization with architecture design as well as pre and post-technical sales activities. In this role you will be working with Technical Architects to design implementions for prospective customers and existing clients. This involves understanding the product capabilities, identifying which products and services best match the prospective client's needs/requirements and responding to technical inquiries. JOB SUMMARY · Define High and Low Level designs for customer delivery of Nominet’s DNS security and analytics product. · Support the physical delivery (implementation) of the design into customers environments whilst engaging with other subject matter experts and maintaining a ‘hands on’ technical approach · Establish knowledge and understanding of world class technology organizations and hold a strong external perspective of developments in Technology. · Evaluating technology market trends to identify product gaps or solution improvement options. Identify and addressing gaps in the current infrastructure and capabilities to deliver required customer environments. · Researching relevant literature, communities and forums to gain insight to assist in ensuring the architecture remains fit for purpose. · Be comfortable and excited about working with and learning the breadth of enterprise technologies and emerging architectures Nominet exploits. · Represent the Architecture Team by responding to proposals, leveraging technical expertise and being accountable for the architecture of proposed solutions. · Build use cases and technical differentiation to support partner/channel GTM. · Define upgrade paths and roadmap requirements to ensure customer retention. · Provide support to partner technical teams on customer questions related to Nominet’s products and services in a professional and courteous manner throughout the sales and rention lifecycles. · Customer and Partner training and education · Global travel to customer or partner sites KEY REQUIREMENTS · Pro-active self-learner capable of understanding new technologies quickly with facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills to be able to share and communicate that knowledge. · Excellent communication and presentation skills. Particularly the ability to relate Nominet’s capabilities and benefits to customers in the industry in a way that differentiates Nominet’s offerings from competitors. · Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to discern ‘must have’ market requirements from ‘nice to have’ requirements. · Hands-on approach with customers and a full commitment to customer success. · Understanding of channel business model. · Advanced practical knowledge of Internet networking protocols and peering principles e.g. BGP, OSPF · Experience in a technical pre-sales or professional services role. · Strong Cyber Security skills (CISSP desired). · Significant hands-on knowledge of Red Hat Linux and the Red Hat ecosystem (Certification desired). · Significant hands-on knowledge of public cloud providers (Certification desired). · Demonstrable knowledge of: · Infrastructure & network design · Big Data Technologies and Data migration · Networking hardware (Juniper, F5, HP, Cisco) · Oracle, SQL, Cassandra database · Agile and DevOps tools such as Jira, Slack, Puppet or Chef, Docker, Ansible and Terraform This job was originally posted as www.cwjobs.co.uk/job/89906207
