Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 (Dependant on Experience) plus additional benefits Are you an experienced Mortgage Underwriter who is seeking an exciting opportunity within a highly respected expanding business? My client is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join a growing business which will be able to help share knowledge and grow the team Overview: The ideal Mortgage Underwriter candidate will be a customer focused individual who provides the highest levels of customer service. The role will be assessing risk and underwrite mortgage applications in accordance with the Lending Policy and risk appetite. If you have experience within Residential and Buy-To-Let mortgages this could be the perfect next step in your career. Responsibilities: Ensure efficient, excellent processing of the credit underwriting of loan cases Analyse and verify incomes, bank statements and credit commitments Monitoring applications to identify any fraudulent activity Structure, negotiate and analyse proposals for approval under own personal mandate Refinement of underwriting practises and input ideas Contribute to best practices for underwriting Work with the Product team to innovate and automate underwriting processes Input ideas to improve features on underwriting models Required skills 1 - 3 year experience in Mortgage Underwriting (Residential & BTL’s) Highly customer focused individual with a passion to deliver the highest level of service to internal and external customers Excellent organisational skills Capable of thinking "outside of the box" and making responsible lending decisions Experience training/mentoring junior underwriters Excellent levels of Mathematic ability with a high attention to detail and positive mindset wanting to get things done Must be a team player who can communicate ideas clearly to other colleagues Candidates must be able to work within a team environment and work closely with others communication clearly to ensure a smooth process is always being followed.
