Public Affairs Officer in Glasgow Your new company Working within the public sector, this is an exciting opportunity within Public Affairs. Your new role This is a varied role, with the main purpose to undertake research, analysis and supporting the development of the institutes policy positions. Other key duties include: Developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement programme for policy makers and external stakeholders to inform, influence and shape opinion Planning and organising engagement events Monitoring policy developments and identifying opportunities for influencing Support the Policy and Public Affairs Manager in evaluating performance Providing policy advise and support Overseeing the companies social media What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, it is essential to: Educated to degree level Superb interpersonal skills both written and verbal Knowledge of UK government processes, along with ability to asses and make recommendations Ability to understand the public interest position of a professional body Desirable traits include: Knowledge of the construction industry and built environment Ability to manage groups and facilitate discussion Experience of working in, or alongside relevant Government Departments Knowledge and experience in maintaining a professional social media presence What you'll get in return If successful you will receive a highly competitive salary alongside a variety of benefits.
