Overview

This is an excellent junior opportunity as a PR & Communications Assistant, supporting the delivery of internal and external communications for a leading law firm. This role is for a self-starter who wants to get their teeth into exciting PR, social media and communications projects. Reporting to the PR Manager and working with the Senior Strategy & Communications Manager, the role holder will enjoy a varied role. Joining a 24 person marketing and business development team, the successful candidate will spend 70% of their working day engaging in PR and social media activities. You will be responsible for assisting the PR Manager in growing the PR strategy in line with business development campaigns and initiatives and will draft and distribute press releases, briefings and Q&A documents for key target national, trade and regional press, track and report on media coverage and generate news stories and PR hooks. On the digital side, you will make regular website updates, write and publish posts to social media channels and record and promote podcasts. The remaining 30% of time will see the PR & Communications Assistant working on internal communications, assisting with communications, compiling and formatting text content for design materials and ensuring communications are on brand. You will have previous PR, communications or marketing experience gained in a professional services environment, with an understanding of PR and communications concepts and practices and willingness to follow industry trends and current methods. With excellent communication and writing skills, the PR & Communications Assistant will be well-organised, creative and confident and have the ability to use initiative to work with limited supervision.
