Overview

Key Responsibilities Participate in the planning, research and delivery of creative PR campaigns and stunts that help to broaden racing’s appeal. Proactively research and identify promotional opportunities and deliver on these under the guidance of the PR Manager. Deliver quality coverage for the sport through a strong network of media and influencer contacts Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and sell-in creative shareable content, including video and other digital assets, and ensure the greatest possible reach for initiatives. Write and produce promotional material of the highest calibre including press releases, newsletters and shareable online content and ensure its effective distribution to and syndication by the media. Develop relationships with key media including influential bloggers, journalists, online influencers, as well as industry stakeholders and brand ambassadors. Build and maintain effective working relationships with other racing organisations including. Brief work to external suppliers, demonstrating clear knowledge of budgetary restraints and deadlines and utilising negotiation skills when required. Prepare project and campaign reviews and draft activity plans, reports and minutes for the team as required Stay abreast of industry trends, best practice, new technology and networks and recommend innovations for implementation. Monitor media coverage and prepare appropriate analysis. Handle issues, concerns and problems in a timely and professional manner and escalating as appropriate Person Specification Educated to degree level would be desirable Proven experience in a consumer PR environment Experience of developing quirky, consumer-focused PR ideas and stunts and proven ability to gain media coverage within a fast-paced and results-driven PR environment Strong sporting knowledge Excellent communication skills including meticulous written skills An established contacts book and evidence of ongoing relationships with relevant media, particularly online and consumer contacts as well as high profile influencers Exceptional selling in skills and ability to pitch to journalists Creative thinker with the ability to turn ideas into reality within budgetary and time constraints Experience Essential: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a consumer PR environment Essential: Experience of developing and activating quirky, consumer-focused PR ideas and stunts and proven ability to gain media coverage Essential: Experience of dealing with a high volume of varied PR-related tasks including pitching to journalists and managing PR campaigns. Essential: An established contacts book and evidence of ongoing relationships with relevant consumer media particularly online contacts and influencers Desirable: Experience of working with professional athletes and brand ambassadors Skills required Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, and deal with a high volume of conflicting tasks, delivering results to tight deadlines and with minimum supervision. Experience of devising and successfully implementing high profile PR campaigns. Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with journalists, online influencers, ambassadors, consumer brands and team members. Excellent written skills with high attention to detail and grammatical accuracy.
