Overview
We are working with a reputable client in Newcastle who is looking for an ambitious and industrious Account Director to be responsible for several client accounts across both the health and commercial sectors. This is an exciting role with an innovative business which aims to provide solutions for healthcare marketing and communication needs. Main Purpose of Role: Your primary responsibility will be developing and managing client relationships for several key accounts. You will be expected to plan campaigns and provide input into clients’ business plans and strategic and tactical operations, becoming a valuable member of the marketing team for the client. Main responsibilities: Taking a lead in all communications with clients including day-to-day business, new project briefs and meetings. You will be the 'go-to person’ for the client and the key contact for any issues that need to be escalated Taking full ownership of projects, ensuring completion to a specific schedule and within an agreed budget To manage, mentor and support other members of the team including effective briefing and delegation of work Maximising revenues and profitability within designated accounts Ongoing management of project finance including monthly review of account performance against projected targets Identifying new business opportunities and active involvement in pitches Successfully developing business within current accounts and contribute significantly to bringing in new business for the agency Key requirement: At least three years of business-to-business agency experience at Account Manager/Director level Experience of delivering multi-channel communications Ability to work under pressure and work on several projects at the same time Be self-sufficient and able to take ownership of projects Effective team management capabilities A keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints Desired skills: At least two years’ experience of working within a medical communications agency environment with experience in professional client relationship management Full awareness of creative processes and techniques Good understanding of pharmaceutical industry structure, roles, and processes Working knowledge of the ABPI code of conduct Experience with pharma approval software systems Our clients have offices in London and Newcastle. This is an office-based role in Newcastle and occasional travel is required for client visits, new business presentations, planning and brief taking.
