Overview

This role could potentially suit a Digital Marketing Manager looking for thier first Directorship. £45,000 salary plus performance related bonus Job purpose: This role will be responsible for both leading our clients’ Marketing function overall to drive business success, and "owning the numbers" for all digital channels. The Marketing team will develop a powerful strategy and plan that engages prospects and customers through all channels, to communicate what our client stands for and is known for, and yield familiarity and favourability towards our client. Key accountabilities and decision ownership: Development and setting of the Marketing strategy and plan Development and implementation of the integrated sales and marketing plan, showing the timing of all sales and marketing activities Create and implement innovative, powerful and compelling marketing campaigns that inspire prospects, customers and partners to take action Measurement of all campaign performance through ROI Preparation of the business for sales peaks, including all elements of sales enablement and presales Accountable for all digital channels and performance - revenues, content, journeys and experiences Market analysis and insight - understand the market and identify how and where to position our client, and "why" Customer insight - understand customer needs, pains and buying behaviours, and develop and update personas to represent their respective profiles Development and implementation of the brand strategy Setting of the data strategy, selecting target prospect and/or customer audiences to build the campaign and manage it Development and conversion of an ongoing pipeline of industrial laboratory sales opportunities with new large-scale laboratory customers throughout the UK, particularly food and beverage companies, water utilities, and other industrial or related businesses (e.g. pharma, medicine etc.). Growth of key accounts to achieve increasing share of consumables, chemicals and equipment spend with our client Driving and growing recurring revenue through the sales channels - Direct Sales, Partners and Digital Work with Sales to proactively retain and grow all accounts through understanding customer needs, account planning and delivering on actions to ensure customers continue to self-serve via online capabilities (i.e. determine the balance between ongoing active sales management and online self-serve) Work with sales to define and deliver a marketing strategy to win new customers via multiple channels, develop key propositions (e.g. subscriptions; traceability and supply chain quality assurance; next-day delivery etc.) for the laboratory segment and sub-segments (Food & Beverage, Water Utilities, Oil & Gas, Pharma, etc.), and to develop and implement a single, integrated sales and marketing calendar, with a series of "always on" messaging and specific campaigns for the regions and segments, according to customer buying trends and market opportunities Contribute to a high-performance team culture within the Marketing and Sales function, and company more generally, to deliver the right solutions for our customers, leading to growth, retention and reputation Development and reporting of a growing pipeline of marketing-generated leads, demonstrating continuous progress from prospect to conversion to "customer-for-life" Skills, know-how and experience: Must have: 10 years of relevant senior digital marketing experience, with at least 7 years marketing to to Food & Beverage, Water Utilities, Medical / Pharmaceutical laboratory customers (e.g. products such as science & testing consumables & equipment, chemicals, etc.) Strong marketing leader with a proven track record of outstanding revenue growth through digital channels Strong people leader, with a demonstrated track record of leading a team to consistently over-deliver Experience in working with digital marketing, direct and partner sales channels to ensure customers are enabled to procure through their preferred channel Strategically minded with operational knowledge of industrial processes, and how science is a key aspect within these (e.g. understanding of chemical reactions and catalysts, filtration, pasteurisation, sterilisation, state conversion, etc.) Demonstrable self-leadership, drive and energy; a self-starter Professional and persuasive, with exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills Experience working in an end-to-end customer facing environment across marketing, sales and customer service Highly organized and structured thinking Ability to work with a range of people and cultures at all levels highly commercial, with a data driven mindset Excellent attention to detail with superior numerical and analytical skills. Agile mindset and practices - able to continuously implement, test and analyse new initiatives to provide the best possible experience to improve conversion rates. Expert knowledge of digital marketing channels, including email, organic, paid, SEO and affiliates. An ability to influence and inspire key stakeholders across multiple locations. Experience with CRO test and learn methodologies and platforms - Adobe Target, Google Optimise, Optimizely Proven experience in reporting and analysis in order to make informed marketing decisions and drive initiatives to maximise success and conversion rates of online campaigns. Experienced with using Adobe Analytics/ Google Analytics. Technical / professional qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or above in a science related discipline - e.g. chemistry, biochemistry, process / chemical engineering, etc. Qualified in Google Analytics CIM Diploma or above in Digital Marketing preferred Additional qualifications in marketing or business are an advantage
