Company Role & Overview Our client who are in the arts & creative industry are currently looking for a Philanthropy Manager who is ready for a new challenge and to work within a dynamic team in Central London. We need our Philanthropy Manager to be brilliant relationship builders with stacks of emotional intelligence and supporter engagement skills, to own and drive relationships with major philanthropists and some of our client's highest value individual supporters. Main Responsibilities Ensuring that the income targets assigned to mid-level individual giving are reached or exceeded. This will include achieving increased income year on year. Networking effectively with colleagues and with external partners as necessary to identify projects and programmes in need of support. Ensuring the Director and all relevant senior staff are briefed ahead of donor meetings or events with clear briefings and meeting notes. Setting up formal and informal meetings with donors, including colleagues where appropriate, to deepen relationships and with the aim and to secure further support in due course. The Head of Individual Giving works specifically with those prospects and donors able to/giving £100,000 or more. The Philanthropy Manager will work closely with the Head of Individual Giving to help identify those within the mid-level giving schemes or Exhibition Supporters that have the capacity to give at a higher level, and to actively aid in their cultivation to this effect. Managing the expenditure budget allocated to mid-level giving, including ensuring that spend on events and administration is kept within budget and strategically utilised to generate income. Person Specification Educated to degree level or equivalent. Knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts. Substantial fundraising or experience in a related field, preferably gained within the arts or museum sector. Experience of engaging a wide range of stakeholders and excellent relationship management skills. Experience of budget management and contributing to reaching income targets, ideally within a museum or heritage organisation or similar environment. Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to keep up to date with demanding administration. Proven ability to work on own initiative and as a team member. Meticulous attention to detail, in particular with regard to data inputting and processing. Innovative and creative approach to developing solutions.
